The plot of One Piece Final Saga has been intricately built over the course of 27 years. After everything that has happened, the Straw Hats are now on their way to find all four Road Poneglyphs and sail to the legendary island of Laugh Tale.
The final leg of their journey has begun in the Egghead arc. The crew will then sail to Elbaf, where many of the mysteries of the Void Century will be revealed, some of which we already know through Vegapunk’s message.
Before the Egghead arc culminates, it has given us a glimpse of the most important characters in the next part of the story. In One Piece chapter 1121, fans have been able to take a glimpse of the characters who will play the most important roles in the Final Saga.
Monkey D. Luffy – One Piece’s protagonist
It makes sense that Luffy is included in the list. He is the main character after all. We saw new heights of Luffy’s power in the Egghead arc, and there will be more in the next part of the story. The Elbaf arc may finally reveal his full connection to the Sun God Nika and Joyboy
Red-Haired Shanks
We knew from the beginning that Shanks would play a major role in the overall story, despite his very limited appearances in One Piece. He has a close relationship with Luffy, being the one who gave him his straw hat. Later, we learned of his connection to Gol D. Roger and his identity as one of the Four Emperors. However, his motives remain a mystery.
Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) – One of Luffy’s greatest enemies in One Piece Final Saga
In One Piece Final Saga, Luffy will face two of his greatest enemies: the World Government and Blackbeard. Originally a member of the Whitebeard, Blackbeard betrayed his former captain, scarred Shanks, had Ace executed, and has now become one of the Four Emperors. He is also after the treasure of One Piece.
Buggy the Clown
When Buggy first appeared, we had no idea he would become such a prominent character. Despite not being the strongest (or smartest), Buggy somehow became a Yonko and commanded the Cross Guild alongside Mihawk and Crocodile. The clown is also after One Piece in the Final Saga.
Imu
The most mysterious character in One Piece is probably Imu, the secret ruler of the world. He sits on the Empty Throne in Mary Geoise and hides himself from everyone except the Five Elders (and those who accidentally discover him). The Five Elders do whatever he wants, even destroying an entire island. Since Imu is the head of the World Government, he is the ultimate villain of One Piece.
Monkey D. Dragon
Although Dragon doesn’t appear much in One Piece, we always know that he is an important character in the story. As the leader of the Revolutionary Army, he is the current biggest enemy of the World Government. He also holds incredible political power and manpower. We can expect him to play a major role in the final war after reuniting with Luffy.
Sakazuki (Akainu)
One of the most hated characters in One Piece is the current Fleet Admiral of the Marines, Sakazuki. He was also the one who killed Ace during the Battle of Marineford. Believing in ‘absolute justice’, Sakazuki will not sit still until pirates are completely wiped out from the world (at least in his opinion). Akainu will face Luffy in the final saga of One Piece.
Sabo
Even though Luffy was unable to save Ace, he fortunately has another brother. Sabo is not only Luffy’s brother but also the Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army. He possesses Ace’s Mera Mera no Mi. While infiltrating Reverie, Sabo accidentally witnessed King Cobra’s assassination and is now one of the few people who know of Imu’s existence.
Kuzan (Aokiji)
A former Marines Admiral, Kuzan switched sides after losing the position of Fleet Admiral to Sakazuki. He later became a rogue and eventually became the commander of the Blackbeard Pirates. During the Egghead arc, he had a major clash with his former mentor, Garp. Many believe that Kuzan will betray Blackbeard in the Final Saga and help Luffy and his crew.
Koby
Regarded by Garp as the ‘future of the Marines’, Koby is the first friend that Luffy makes in One Piece. Despite their divergent paths, Koby has always respected Luffy and his pursuit of his dreams. However, after Garp’s defeat at Hachinosu and hearing Vegapunk’s worldwide broadcast, Koby is now determined to stop Luffy from reaching Laugh Tale.
Garling Figarland
One of the newly introduced characters, Figarland Garling holds incredible power, both politically and physically. Furthermore, he is also related to Uta, Shanks’ adopted daughter. Figarland Garling is also a swordsman. These two facts have led fans to believe that he is related to Shanks.
The Unknown Swordsman
The final page of chapter 1121 shows the important characters in the Final Saga of One Piece. While we see the faces of the others, only one appears as a silhouette. All we know about this man is that he is a swordsman and will play an important role in the future. We can expect the Final Saga to reveal his identity and connection to the rest of the characters.
