1. [+306, -3] The idea behind this drama is *fresh* and great but the execution was bad !! First of all, I'm someone who watches drama without even knowing the actors ! I don't judge drama based on "This actor is veteran" or "That actor is a rookie" because a veteran can mess up and rookie can outshine everyone. Now that I've mentioned this, this is my honest review : The acting was lacking, there were no chemistry between the actors, I couldn't feel the emotions of the characters, I couldn't connect [ no pun intended ] or sympathize with the victims or even hate the serial killer. Something was missing !! Some episodes were so boring and lots of scene felt out of place and not needed if that make sense !! They could've made this drama into 4 or 5 episodes or give us more in those 8 episodes !! The serial killer wasn't serial killing for me xd he felt more like a wannabe psychopath esp when he started losing control and killing everyone left and right.. Plus, you know how in lots of dramas when you watch the serial killer, you just freeze, you feel intimidated, you get the chills just by seeing their face ?? Yeah, that didn't happen to me in this one !! I think it's because of the actor's face , he has a baby face xd I really wish he either stays away from evil characters or at least work on his face expressions cuz there are lots of actors who can just switch from "Baby face" to "I'm gonna rip your throat and watch life escape your eyes while sipping wine" face. Idk this is just my opinion hehehe. I wanted to see more fighting scenes especially from the girl, she clearly can kick ass !!! I'll be watching season2 just for her lol.
2. [+302, -1] Very good points. I agree with the serial killer part cause he's so baby faced but that can't be the only reason why his expressions is limited. Take actor yoon shi-yoon as an example, he did well in psychopath's diary. The way he acted two parts, the innocent and naive side while the other where he could poke your eyeballs to make it into a skewer. Also, I'm glad you noticed the actress! I got into kim hye-joon when she played as the queen in kingdom series, then as a serial killer in inspector koo. She acted so well, both characters as villains too! What a shame she's not one in this drama, I do want to see her as the killer tho lol she would nail it
3. [+297, -3] Omg psychopath diaries is to this days one of my favorite kdramas!! The way shi yoon switches in a blink of an eye from the "Normal" him to psychopath mode is just crazy to me !! He also did the same when he played two completely different characters in train, that man devours his roles when acting !! He's mind blowing ngl !!
4. [+293, -2] My overall score: The graphic is good. The idea is quiet fresh, but lack something. The acting is good. The plot is slow, many plot holes (or at least annoying stupid character, even the mc, murder, heroine, all! The murderer is using a plot armor, he is in cancer final stage but can battle with the heroine one by one and win even tho the heroine can beat the gangsters or assassin, doesn’t make sense. She bring her ace the giant, but when she fight the murderer, suddenly the ace is unavailable to fight. The murder is not smart enough for my cup of tea, but other characters are just dumb enough to catch the curlpit. I get annoyed when the mc can’t yelled that he is the murderer from people who died above, only saying he stole his eye. The police is too dumb and cctv suddenly not working to record and analyze the last people who get to rooftop. The lady who found out the truth doesn’t have brain to report it to more people and police. The ability as immortal is useless without superuser power because you will only just be a rat lab, captured by someone. The heroine feels like yiseo from itaewon class, she is kinda act the same way.
5. [+289, -9] I was disappointed and felt underwhelmed watching it I have more questions at the end than I had at the beginning. Leaving an opening to a second season. I tend to stay away from shows which have seasons which is why I adored the traditional 16 ep kdrama arc, but now seeing that we’re purposely being left hanging to beg for a continuation is annoying like,We didnt even get given a confirmation for a second season. Like I don’t mind if it’s a completed show, which was so well liked the audience asks for a second season like penthouse, squid game etc. Or if we get given told there will be more than a season that way I can choose to not watch it. But this has me really annoyed 😭 plus the plot felt like something written with a marvellous baseline with poor execution afterwards. Like I could watch it while doing something else and just have the show play in the background taking a peek every now and then type of thing. With that being said I rate it a 5.5/10.
6. [+283, -3] It felt like a japanese series—and then I saw the director. So it's indeed a japanese series. Disappointing for a takashi miike -directed series. It's just like a b or c level j drama. The writing is horrible! Well, the plot is itself horrible. It failed to capture the imagination. Too many loopholes and questionable sequences. Silly effects. Why do they have to show the healing process all the time? I edited this comment to delete my point on the "Shockingly bad fight scenes." I verified. I thought I it was another series I watched. This is indeed the series I saw recently with awfully bad fight scenes.
7. [+277, -11] He was thought to be a psycho in love in contract and he is actually a psycho here. Hope all know who I am talking about.
8. [+268, -7] I thought this was suppose to be release october 6th this year but now it is delayed and will be release on 31 of may next year. Still can't wait. The webtoon gave me a little bit tokyo ghoul vibe, but more murder mystery, horror paranormal things I enjoy. So I'm so so exited. Amazing cast.
9. [+266, -3] Would I sound crazy if I say I'm kinda hyped by this story? I mean, my sensitive side feels scared and horrified by the darkness of the plot but a part of me is just 👀.
10. [+256, -4] So japanese director makes a korean drama based on korean webtoon connect which itself is rip off of japanese manga ajin? Smh. Only bright spot was the fl.
