The inaugural Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) has partnered with Caliverse, a subsidiary of Lotte Innovate, to introduce a new award category, “Transcendence of the Year.” Voting for this special award will be open until the 12th of this month.
The “Caliverse Transcendence of the Year” award, which began its voting period on the 1st, will be given to an artist who has captured fans worldwide with music and performances that transcend age, gender, generation, and borders. The artist with the most votes by the end of the voting period will win the award. Additionally, participants in the voting will have a chance to win tickets to the red carpet and awards ceremony performances, with 150 tickets available.
The first KGMA event will take place on November 16 and 17 at Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon. Han Dong Chul, known for his work on “MAMA,” “Show Me the Money,” and “Produce 101,” will serve as the event’s executive producer, promising a massive K-pop awards stage that will feel like a concert experience.
The KGMA ceremony, which has generated buzz with NewJeans’ Hanni, actress Nam Ji Hyun, and aespa’s Winter as hosts, will also feature Caliverse in a dazzling opening performance that combines technology and artistry.
On November 16, performances will include NewJeans, D.O., TVXQ, BIBI, STAYC, (G)I-DLE, Young Tak, Yoo Hoi Seung, Lee Mu Jin, Lee Young Ji, Jung Dong Won (JD1), ZEROBASEONE, QWER, Taemin, and P1Harmony, among others.
On the 17th, the stage will be graced by aespa, ATEEZ, Nowadays, NiziU, DAY6, RIIZE, Song Ga In, NCT Wish, Yuqi, Eunice, Lee Chan Won, JO1, CLASS:y, TREASURE, and FIFTY FIFTY, making for a spectacular lineup.
