2NE1 To Return To The SBS Gayo Daejeon Stage After 10 Years

Welcome back, 2NE1. The iconic girl group, reunited from a 2016 disbandment, will be returning to the SBS Gayo Daejeon stage after ten years.

The quartet last performed at the awards show, scheduled to take place this year on Christmas at the INSPIRE Arena in Seoul, in 2014, just two years before their termination.

The group announced their return with flair in July, with news of a world tour to celebrate their 15th anniversary, which began in Seoul, South Korea, in October, with stops in Osaka, Japan, in November and Tokyo, Japan, in December.

The group’s four members, consisting of Park Bom, Sandara Park, CL, and Minzy, debuted with their 2009 single “Fire” and became a quintessential household name after the success of their girl anthem, “I’m the Best.”

After Minzy’s departure, the group went on a year-long hiatus, prompting their eventual disbandment, with a proper send-off in the form of their song, “Goodbye,” in 2017.

CL, the group’s leader, revealed in an interview with AP Entertainment that she was just as blindsided as fans by news of the group’s disbandment at the time, having found out through social media.

“I was at a Thanksgiving dinner and my phone blew up,” she said.

“But yeah, those situations…” she trailed off, adding that the moment had been “very heartbreaking for me.”
