On the afternoon of November 2, 2020 the Korean newspaper reported that comedian Park Ji Sun, 36, was found dead alongside her biological mother at an apartment in Mapo, Seoul. Park Ji-sun, who was just one day away from her birthday, had been battling a chronic illness and reportedly experienced intense pain as her condition deteriorated.
As a result of the police investigation, a suicide note believed to have been written by her mother was discovered at the scene, but it was not made public by the wishes of the bereaved family.
At that time, Park Ji Sun was still active on television, so her sudden death shocked Korean audiences. According to Park Ji Sun’s father, he felt insecure when the mother and daughter did not answer the phone. He reported to the police, but when they entered the house, the two had already passed away.
