Ryu Sung Hyun, 55, an actor who plays the villain Lee Seok-Jae in the hit series The Glory, is in the news after proposing to his girlfriend, who is 18 years younger than him.

On December 19, while appearing on MBN’s “Special Scoop World,” Ryu opened up about his relationship and proposal.

He revealed he had watched his girlfriend from a distance for three years at a soccer function where they initially met.

Ryu showered her with love, even though there was an age gap.

Ryu said, “My girlfriend was pretty, and I watched her for about three years, but she had a boyfriend.”

Ryu’s girlfriend was a high school student when they began dating and faced much opposition from the couple’s parents, especially her father, who disapproved of the age gap.

“My father was severe; he said, ‘I’ll erase you from the family register,'” she recalled.

His father was worried about the age gap, asking if things would be awkward when their daughter entered her 40s, and Ryu was in his 60s.
