Here’s a closer look at some of the highly anticipated Korean series coming to Disney+ this year, unveiled during the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase:
Unmasked (January 15)
Kim Hye Soo, Jung Sung Il, and Joo Jong Hyuk lead this gripping drama about an investigative news team whose careers are on the line after airing a controversial story. Racing against time, the team must solve a 20-year-old cold case involving a vanished actor to save their jobs.
Hyper Knife (March 19)
Park Eun Bin and Sul Kyung Gu deliver riveting performances in this intense medical drama. It follows Seok, a brilliant neurosurgeon who loses her license after defying her mentor. Forced into performing underground surgeries, she’s drawn back into her former mentor’s orbit in a quest for redemption and revenge.
Knock-Off
Making his Disney+ debut, Kim Soo Hyun stars alongside Jo Bo Ah in this drama about the shadowy world of counterfeit goods. Knock-Off tells the story of Sungjun, a man devastated by the ‘97 Asian Financial Crisis, who rebuilds his life by climbing to the top of the counterfeit market.
Nine Puzzles
Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku headline this dark crime thriller. Yoon Ena, a criminal profiler haunted by her past, partners with her harshest critic, investigator Kim Hanseam, to hunt down a serial killer in a deadly, mind-bending game of wits.
Low Life
Set in 1970s Korea, this drama stars Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong, and Lim Soo Jung as an uncle-nephew duo struggling to make ends meet. Tasked with retrieving an ancient treasure, they face fierce competition from treasure hunters across the country.
Tempest
In this thrilling Hollywood-Korean crossover, Gianna Jun, Kang Dong Won, and John Cho star in a gripping tale about uncovering the truth behind a devastating attack threatening Korean peninsula stability. Featuring an international ensemble cast, Tempest promises intense drama and high-stakes diplomacy.
The Murky Stream
Disney+’s first Korean period drama, set during the lawless Joseon Dynasty, follows gangster Jang Siyul (Rowoon), aspiring military officer Jung Chun (Shin Ye Eun), and the virtuous Choi Eun. Expect intrigue and action as their fates collide in this epic historical series.
The Manipulated
