On April 12, the group’s social media account, now operating under the handle “mhdhh” an acronym derived from the members’ initials shared an image of a handwritten fan letter bearing the message, “I love you, I’m cheering for you.” The post was accompanied by a teary-eyed cat emoji, reflecting the members’ emotional response to the outpouring of fan support.
Previously, in November of last year, the five members of NewJeans announced the termination of their exclusive contract with their agency, ADOR, citing breaches of the agreement. They began pursuing independent activities and even revealed a new name, “NJZ.” However, their plans were hindered by ADOR’s legal actions, including a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract and an injunction to maintain their management rights and prevent the members from signing advertising deals.
Last month, when the court ruled in favor of ADOR, NewJeans halted all activities under the name “NJZ” and changed their social media account handle from “NJZ” to “mhdhh” on April 4, a name derived from the initials of the members.
Despite the legal challenges, the members have continued to engage with their fans. On April 11, member Danielle shared a heartfelt message on social media to mark her birthday, expressing her appreciation for the unwavering support from fans during these difficult times.
