BLACKPINK Jennie sat down for a cover story interview with Harper’s Bazaar, where she opened up about her debut series “The Idol.” According to the idol-actress, the HBO show had similarities to her personal life.
The fashion magazine unveiled their cover story with Jennie on September 18, Wednesday, giving her fans a glimpse into her life. During the interview, the BLACKPINK member talked about her acting debut through “The Idol.”

In this series, Jennie played as Dyanne, a singer and dancer who’s friends with Lily Rose-Depp’s character Jocelyn.
“I related to Dyanne a lot,” said Jennie. “Wanting to become a super pop star is something I could easily just tune myself into.”
When asked why “The Idol” appealed to her, the BLACKPINK singer didn’t hesitate in answering.
Jennie says she felt connected to ‘THE IDOL’ because she saw similarities within her personal life:

“Having the idea of this evil person coming in and trying to manipulate, I’ve been in that world my whole life,” confessed Jennie.
The Abel Tesfaye-directed melodrama, which aired on HBO in 2023, shows the execrable underbelly of the music industry and the power-hungry people in it—the abusive music executives, rotten producers, and the aspiring musicians desperate to make it big.
