HYBE & Belift Lab Lied about NewJeans’ CCTV Data?

On October 8, a topic questioning HYBE & Belift Lab’s claim about their CCTV data was published on the Korean forum “theqoo”, drawing significant attention.

Previously, HYBE & Belift Lab released an official statement regarding the case of ILLIT’s manager allegedly telling the members to ignore NewJeans’ Hanni, which stated that the HYBE building’s CCTV is stored only for 30 days. 

However, the topic suspected that HYBE & Belift Lab lied about this 30-day period, and pointed out “evidence” that may prove otherwise. 

In particular, the summarized the timeline of the even as follows:

• On March 31st: NewJeans’ parents sent an email to HYBE, recounting how Bang Si-Hyuk repeatedly ignored NewJeans when encountering them in the elevator. This implies that the incident where Bang Si-Hyuk didn’t recognize NewJeans occurred before March 31st.
• On May 13th: The email from NewJeans’ parents was leaked to the media.
• On May 14th: Dispatch began verifying the story by reviewing CCTV footage. Dispatch confirmed that Bang Si-Hyuk indeed didn’t recognize the NewJeans members when they crossed paths in the elevator.

The question arises: If CCTV data at the building is automatically deleted after 30 days and cannot be restored, why did HYBE still have CCTV footage from before March 31st to show Dispatch on May 14th, which is 45 days later?

This has sparked suspicions that Belift Lab may have lied in their statement about the automatic deletion of CCTV after 30 days, especially regarding their inability to verify whether ILLIT’s manager told the girl group to ignore NewJeans’ Hanni.
