Sending Funeral Flowers to Ex-RIIZE Seunghan is “Attempted Murder”, Said Kpop Star

On October 17, former DAY6 member Jae (also known as “eaJ”, real name Park Jae-hyung) expressed his anger over the protest using mourning flowers by fans of the group RIIZE.

In particular, Jae strongly criticized the actions of some RIIZE fans, who sent funeral wreaths in protest of member Seunghan’s return to the group, calling the protest “disgusting” in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“The funeral flowers were disgusting. The same people who sent them will be the first ones online mourning the tragic outcome they fought for. God forbid tragedy occurs but I’ve been on that side before and It was close. I can’t imagine the trauma it would cause someone that young”, the male idol said.

He even went as far as to compare the flower senders to murderers, saying, “Anyone involved in the flowers should be tried for attempted murder because that is what that was.”

Meanwhile, Seunghan, a member of SM’s rookie group RIIZE, had paused his activities due to a pre-debut personal scandal. However, when news of his return broke, some fans opposed it. As part of their protest, they sent funeral flower wreaths to SM Entertainment’s headquarters, demanding his departure from the group.

Amid rising protests, just two days after the announcement of his return, Seunghan eventually left RIIZE. SM Entertainment confirmed his departure, and Seunghan also released a handwritten letter explaining his position to fans.

Jae, born in 1992, first gained recognition in 2011 through the SBS audition program “K-Pop Star” Season 1. He later debuted with the band DAY6 but left the group in 2022 to pursue a solo career.
