According to the police, on the morning of September 29th, a minor fan in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam, Seoul was assaulted by a member of Jessi’s group after requesting a photo with the singer.
Jessi reportedly tried to stop the altercation then left the scene. When the police arrived after the victim reported the incident, Jessi’s group stated they did not know the whereabouts of the assailant.
Jessi’s side clarified that they were not involved and that the attacker was a friend of a producer close to Jessi, who was of Chinese nationality. When asked by the media on October 16th whether she had seen the perpetrator before, Jessi replied, “I saw him for the first time.“
One member of Jessi’s group allegedly blocked the fan from approaching her then punched the fan in the stomach and head. This person has been identified online as “Koala”, a producer and rapper who worked on Jessi’s tracks like “Cold Blooded” and “NUNU NANA”. Koala was summoned for questioning by the police on October 11th as the accused.
Jessi, Koala and two others are currently under investigation after being sued by the victim for assault. Additionally, a netizen filed a separate charge against Jessi for concealing the criminal and fleeing.
