K-netizens Uncover Manipulation Tactics by Tokki in Support of NewJeans

Recent reports have surfaced revealing that Tokki is allegedly attempting to manipulate public opinion on K-net, the prominent online community and news platform, through discussions in the NewJeans forum on DC Inside. This effort reportedly involves collaboration with admins of major fan pages across South Korea.

In a detailed guide shared within the community, K-net users were encouraged to engage in organized comment campaigns to bolster support for NewJeans. The guidelines suggest the following strategies:

  1. Entertainment Articles: Users are advised to comment on articles about NewJeans rather than simply reacting with likes or “wows,” as these reactions have minimal impact on public perception. Comments should be focused on major news outlets that allow open commentary.
  2. Older Articles with Low Engagement: It’s deemed unproductive to manage comments on these posts, and fans are encouraged to ignore them.
  3. YouTube and Instagram: The strategy discourages excessive commenting unless there are significant concerns in major channels, as managing comments on these platforms has proven ineffective.
  4. Political Involvement: Fans are warned to avoid any political connections, ensuring that NewJeans and their fanbase, known as Bunnies, are not misconstrued as having affiliations with any political parties or figures.
  5. Comment Templates: The guidelines stress the importance of consistency in comment titles, avoiding personal opinions, and steering clear of the original titles from articles or social media. Users are instructed to focus on writing positive comments first, then to report and downvote any negative comments encountered.

In addition, fans request that when sharing articles, at least 10 positive comments (선플) should be left. After writing, refresh the page and select 3-4 good comments or well-reasoned critiques of the article to upvote. This is the initial step.

If the article already has many negative comments, leave a positive comment first. Then, look for highly upvoted positive comments and upvote them. If no positive comments are found, refresh the page to find the 3-4 most recent positive comments to upvote.

Simply upvote 3-4 positive comments and downvote (비추) the negative comments ranked 3 to 5 in the top comments section. If there is enough interaction and positive comments reach ranks 3, 4, or 5, you can aim for positions 1 or 2.
