A top celebrity who was once a sales king in TV sales but suddenly became a singer

In 2012, Choa debuted with AOA, delivering several hit songs like “Heart Attack,” “Like a Cat,” and “Miniskirt,” gaining immense popularity. However, in 2017, she left the group due to burnout and has since focused on her solo career.

Currently, she runs her personal YouTube channel “Choa,” actively communicating with her fans. She recently appeared on the variety show “Kick A Goal,” where she showcased her distinctive charm.

On the show, Choa shared an intriguing story about her past, revealing that before her debut, she was known as the “IPTV Sales Queen.” During high school, after her trainee company closed, she entered university and took on a part-time job selling IPTV, earning significant profits.

In one episode of a variety show in 2023, Choa recalled her debut at the age of 21, saying, “I was a trainee in high school, but the company was closed, so I went to college and worked at the same time. I was also the best-selling sales person of IPTV. I earned 5 million won a month and later became a trainee. I told my parents the news when I got my contract signed.”

However, facing opposition from her parents, she decided to use her savings to restart her trainee life.

When asked about her sales success, Choa explained that rather than relying on humor, she built trust with customers through her sincerity, saying, “No matter how many questions I got, I always kindly explained everything,” showing her genuine dedication.

After stepping away from the stage for a while due to difficult times, Choa has now made her comeback through variety shows and solo activities, winning the love of many fans once again.

Meanwhile, Choa withdrew from AOA after five years of activities. Regarding this, she shared, “I debuted late, so I had to succeed, but there was no limit to being successful. We won first place for the second time, but it was futile. I think I gave up on myself because it was difficult for the same person to keep showing a new look and I was always judged negatively. At that time, if I couldn’t change the system, I should go. I thought I needed some courage to be happy for myself, so I left.”

“But I’ve never had a fight with the members,” Choa added, “We never fought. I don’t think we even complained in daily conversations.”
