On the evening of the 29th, during a live broadcast on critic Kim Young Dae’s YouTube channel, Min shared her special connection with BTS’s V.
Min revealed that V occasionally calls her even while serving in the military. She said, “V is doing really well. He’s always been such a bright person, and when I was going through a tough time, he cheerfully reached out to ask, ‘You’re okay, right?’”
Min also mentioned that V sent her a birthday message while in the military.
She added, “I was so touched when he texted me in the early morning to wish me a happy birthday. He has such a kind heart, and that’s why he can do things like that.”
During the live broadcast, Min also recalled something V said during a press conference last April. She recounted, “V said something like, ‘I’m worried because you’re about to show your true self to the world without holding back.’ But I held back as much as I could, even though I could have cursed the place down. I only said the minimum.”
Min further explained, “I spoke rationally at that time. I’m not the type to memorize a script; I just said things as they came to me, and I laid out what I had gone through in the exact order. People said, ‘Who wrote that script for her?’ But even my lawyer didn’t know I was going to say those things.”
Meanwhile, previously, a topic titled “BTS’s V’s solo album keeps getting left out by Big Hit (HYBE)” was published on the Korean forum theqoo, garnering attention.
In particular, the topic pointed out that despite BTS’s V’s solo album, “Layover”, having surpassed 250,000 copies sold in Japan since last year, the album only received a RIAJ Gold Certification in 2024.
To obtain this certification, the company must apply directly, and two other BTS members who sold over 250,000 copies in Japan acquired this certification right away, leaving V as the only one to be delayed.
Additionally, there has been a small controversy among BTS fans, where links to the members’ solo album jacket photos and solo album sales pages on the official BTS US shop were all updated, except for V.
On top of this, in the banner above the US shop website for BTS, 10 songs of the members and of BTS in order of release are included. However, despite “Layover” being within the 10 most recently released tracks, it was not included in the banner, raising speculations that HYBE is ignoring BTS’s V and his release on purpose.
Regarding this, it was pointed out that the producer behind V’s “Layover” is none other than Min Hee-jin – who is embroiled in intense conflict against HYBE and removed from her position as CEO of NewJeans’ agency, ADOR.
It seems that HYBE is trying to erase Min Hee-jin amid their feud, causing BTS’s V’s album to also be ignored.
Below are some comments from netizens:
- I’m so upset seeing this, but I wonder how much more sad the singer himself must have felt. HYBE is truly falling apart
- It’s true that V seems to be more absent than the other members… So it’s because of HYBE’s feud with Min Hee-jin huh?
- Seriously, why are they acting like that towards V? He’s one of their artists
- Bang Si-hyuk must really hate Min Hee-jin so much
- HYBE is really too much. I hope V gets better after leaving this company
- The agency did that to V? This is really shocking…
