“Twelve” Reveals Star-Studded Lineup Including Ma Dong Seok, Seo In Guk and Park Hyung Sik

Fantasy-action series Twelve has electrified fans with a spectacular lineup, bringing together renowned talent to embark on a monumental battle rooted in the Eastern zodiac’s lore.

Twelve delves into a vast universe where 12 angels, each embodying a zodiac sign, disguise themselves among humans, quietly safeguarding the world from sinister forces. But as darkness rises, their secret powers are threatened, leading to an epic showdown that challenges their unity, resolve, and devotion to their mission.

At the center of Twelve is global sensation Ma Dong Seok, celebrated for his performances in the record-breaking The Outlaws franchise and Marvel’s Eternals. Ma takes on the role of Tae-san, the tiger angel, who commands absolute strength as the revered leader of the angels. Tae-san’s dedication to his mission is coupled with an inner struggle, as he silently mourns the loss of four comrades—the ox, rabbit, sheep, and rooster angels—who sacrificed themselves in an ancient clash. Now, Tae-san conceals his divine identity, navigating the human realm while bearing the responsibility of defending humanity and leading the remaining angels into battle.

Joining Ma Dong Seok is Seo In Guk, whose acclaimed roles in Squad 38 and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes have solidified his place as a dynamic actor. Seo portrays Won Seung, the monkey angel, a sharp-witted and strategic thinker whose ambition drives him to succeed Tae-san as leader.

Lee Joo Bin, known for her magnetic presence in The Outlaws 4 and Queen of Tears, brings her talents to the role of Mir, the dragon angel. Mir possesses tremendous, albeit dormant, powers, sealed away in the same fierce battle that claimed her fellow angels.

Go Kyu Pil, with his memorable characters in The Outlaws 3, The King’s Affection, and Crash Landing on You, transforms into Donnie, the pig angel. Living a quiet life as a nurse in a traditional Korean medicine clinic, Donnie works closely with Bangul, the snake angel, healing those around him. However, when called upon, his surprising strength and agility in combat defy expectations.

Kang Mina, known for Hotel Del Luna and Welcome to Samdalri, takes on the role of Kang Ji, the dog angel. Though fierce and formidable in battle, Kang Ji’s warmth shines through in her devotion to humanity and to the angels’ mission.

Adding to this powerhouse ensemble is Sung Yu Bin, a young actor on the rise with roles in The Witch: Part 2 and No Way Out: The Roulette. Sung brings to life Jwidol, the rat angel, whose quick-thinking and tactical mind make him an essential player in the angels’ operations.

Ahn Ji Hye, an actress skilled in high-octane action seen in Badland Hunters, will tackle the role of Malsuk, the horse angel, delivering intense fight sequences sure to captivate fans. Newcomer Regina Ray will join the cast as Bangul, the snake angel, a compassionate doctor of oriental medicine who applies ancient healing arts to aid humans and protect her fellow angels.

Adding to the intrigue is the character of Marok, the only human blessed with divine powers, who acts as an advisor and guardian to the 12 angels. Marok is portrayed by veteran actor Sung Dong Il. As the trusted confidant of Tae-san and his celestial warriors, Marok stands as an unwavering supporter, helping the angels maintain their secrecy while guiding them in their quest to shield humanity.

Taking on the central villain role is Park Hyung Sik, whose stellar performances in Happiness and Doctor Slump have endeared him to audiences worldwide. Park steps into the role of Ogwi, a powerful dark spirit who symbolizes the crow and possesses powers that were once sealed but are now awakened. Ogwi reemerges as a formidable force bent on defeating the angels and asserting his dark influence in the human world, unleashing a surge of evil energy that challenges the very core of the angels’ mission.

Twelve offers a richly woven narrative grounded in Eastern mythology, reimagining the familiar symbols of the zodiac in a high-stakes struggle of good versus evil. The series will follow the complex dynamics among the angels as they confront not only the looming threats from Ogwi and his dark forces but also the internal conflicts that arise from their human-like experiences and interactions. Each character’s unique abilities are intricately connected to their zodiac, creating a tapestry of powers, weaknesses, and strengths that come together in their shared purpose: to protect humanity at all costs.

The show’s creative team promises a visually stunning, action-packed journey, with elaborate set pieces, cutting-edge special effects, and carefully choreographed action scenes designed to immerse viewers in the world of Twelve. From its vivid portrayal of the angels’ ancient powers to their human interactions in the modern world, Twelve blends fantasy with realism, delivering a uniquely engaging drama that explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the eternal struggle between darkness and light.
