As Tesla’s inaugural ambassador in Korea, Kim Ye-ji’s partnership is expected to be a meaningful collaboration connecting sports with a sustainable future.
Tesla’s selection of ambassadors is rare globally, so Kim Ye-ji’s appointment is garnering even more attention and excitement. This partnership came about after Kim Ye-ji caught the eye of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Previously, a video of Kim Ye-ji competing in the women’s 25m pistol event went viral, surpassing 34 million views on X (formerly Twitter). Elon Musk praised her performance, stating “She should be cast in an action movie”, which led to the connection between Kim Ye-ji and Tesla.
Kim Ye-ji expressed her excitement, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Tesla, a brand that noticed me through shooting. Tesla is an innovative and forward-thinking brand, so I think it aligns well with me. I look forward to sharing positive messages through this partnership.”
Kim Ye-ji, who recently won a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, is gaining recognition worldwide, not only in Korea. As one of Korea’s top sports representatives, she plans to continue working to expand the popularity of shooting sports and improve conditions for lesser-known sports.
