The reminiscences of youthful Korean stars who exited this earth too early are always imbued with a sense of melancholy. They all brought their A-game and loyal fans would appear, nimbly or toxically.

Fans and peers have mourned their untimely losses since. So this is for all of ’em, and we salute their legacies by recognizing the footprints left in the sand after their too-brief but brilliant careers.

Song Yu Jung

As a beginner model, Song Yu Jung had been practicing her acting abilities throughout school. She was featured in dramas like “Golden Rainbow” and “School 2017.” She died suddenly, aged 26, in January 2021, leaving many devastated.

Park Ji Hoon
