When the topic is K-pop groups with horror themes and elements, it is impossible not to think about the OG “Concept Kings” — VIXX!
After 12 years, whatever happened to the members?
In 2012, Jellyfish Entertainment launched its first-ever boy group named VIXX, a sextet formed through the reality show, “MyDOL.”
Upon debut, they stood out for their visuals, singing and dancing skills, but more than that, they cemented their name for their unique story-telling concepts that touched elements of horror, suspense, and thriller.
In 2013, they usurped the moniker with “On & On,” which features the classic vampire vibe.
Shortly after, the team dropped “Hyde,” which is their sinister take on “Hyde and Jekyll.”
In the same year, their winning strike continued with the hit “Voodoo Doll,” which currently remains a horrifying theme that no other artist can top.
Unfortunately, VIXX, who reached their peak, had a hiatus in 2019 to challenge their solo paths.
Along the way, some members met their downfall, leading the team to re-organize a four-member group.
Here is the status of the six original members:
LEO
In March 2024, Leo, VIXX’s main vocalist, left Jellyfish to sign with Big Boss Entertainment as an actor.
However, he clarified that he is still a member of the group.
KEN
The member also left Jellyfish along with Leo in March and is currently an artist under S27M Entertainment.
He is still in VIXX.
N
While the idol-turned-actor left the label in 2020, he attested to Starlights (fandom) that he will still work as VIXX.
Currently, he is focused on his acting career under 51k.
HYUK
The maknae of the sextet also parted ways with Jellyfish in 2022 but is still a VIXX member. He is now a Companion Company artist, but he is currently inactive due to his military service.
He will be discharged on January 2026.

HONGBIN
In 2020, Hongbin announced his withdrawal from VIXX as well as retirement from the Korean entertainment scene. This was after his controversial remarks about other idol groups during a drinking session on a livestream.
Currently, he is a full-time Twitch broadcaster.
RAVI
In 2019, Ravi left his label to establish his own label GROOVL1N. He remained a VIXX member until he left in 2023 after being caught faking his health condition to evade active military duties.
He received a 2-year suspended prison sentence and 120 hours of community service for violating the Military Service Act. He also volunteered to enlist twice.
