Idols born in 2006 are mostly not taking this year’s College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
Female idols such as Haerin from NewJeans, Kyujin from NMIXX, Hong Eunchae from LE SSERAFIM, Park Sion from tripleS, and Hana from FIFTY FIFTY have decided not to take the exam this year.
According to Star News on Nov 7th, Haerin, Kyujin, Hong Eunchae, Park Sion, and Hana will not be taking the ‘2025 College Scholastic Ability Test’ scheduled for the 14th. Haerin, born in May 2006 and eligible to take the CSAT this year as she is completing high school, has decided to postpone her college entrance pursuits to focus on her music career.
Kyujin, Hong Eunchae, Park Sion, and Hana, also born in 2006, similarly chose not to take the test to focus on their careers.
However, some idols, such as Woonhak from BOYNEXTDOOR and Mackiah and Kim Seung-mo from Ampers&One, have decided to take the CSAT. Notably, Mackiah is an Australian citizen.
Among actors, Gal Sowon will be taking the CSAT. Gal Sowon gained popularity as a child actress, playing the role of Yesung, the daughter of Yong-gu (played by Ryu Seung-ryong), in the film Miracle in Cell No. 7, which attracted over 10 million viewers. The film was released in January 2013, and Gal So-won, who was 7 years old at the time, is now a high school senior. Ryu Seung-ryong, who developed a close bond with Gal So-won through Miracle in Cell No. 7, recently expressed his unique emotions in an interview with Star News, saying, “She was a little girl of 6 when we met, and now she’s preparing for the CSAT.”
Gal Sowon, now 17 years old, is reported to be attending Jeju Hanlim High School. She has been balancing both her studies and acting career and is currently focused on her final preparations for the CSAT.
