A new trend of celebrity look alike contests has emerged in the United States, starting with a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York, where the actor himself appeared. Following this, more contests featuring other celebrities have taken place, including one for BTS’s Jungkook in Chicago on November 24 at Ping Tom Park. The winner received a $20 cash prize and a bottle of soju.
The contest drew a decent crowd as participants showcased their best Jungkook impersonations. After narrowing down the competitors, Andrew Alexander, a college student from California, was declared the winner.
Andrew Alexander, a YouTuber and content creator, impressed judges with his detailed imitation of Jungkook’s piercings and tattoos. He flew in from California for the event, and was helped by his sister Ashley, a fellow content creator, who shared a TikTok showing how she drew on Jungkook’s tattoos to enhance his resemblance.
Though some netizens on X questioned the likeness, others praised the fun atmosphere of the event, which was ultimately about enjoyment.
