The episode continues from the night when Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon spot the lilac bush in full bloom. As Seok Jiwon stares at the flower in his palm, a memory of the kiss they shared the other night flashes through his mind. Unable to hold back, he brings it up, much to Yun Jiwon’s dismay. She stresses that the kiss was a mistake and urges him not to mention it again. But Seok Jiwon, undeterred, startles her by declaring that since the lilac bush has bloomed, they are now officially a couple. Yun Jiwon is left flustered as she struggles to respond.

The next morning, the blooming lilac bush becomes the talk of the school. Students and staff alike notice its vibrant presence, and rumours about Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon dating spread like wildfire. Despite Yun Jiwon’s adamant denials to her colleagues, Seok Jiwon appears amused and refuses to back down. He even marches into the staff room under the pretence of inquiring about Yun Jiwon’s phone, which she had lost. Upon learning about the missing phone, Seok Jiwon pieces together why his calls went unanswered the other night, sparking a realization about Ji-hye’s interference.

Meanwhile, Ji-hye’s jealousy intensifies as she struggles to hide her bitterness over the growing bond between Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon. Later, Yun Jiwon confronts Seok Jiwon in his office, firmly telling him that she cannot date him. Their heated conversation is overheard by Seok Jiwon’s assistant, who later advises him to act sad and distant to make Yun Jiwon yearn for him. That night, Seok Jiwon skips dinner, feigning melancholy, which successfully makes Yun Jiwon worry. Concerned, she prepares porridge for him and heads to his room, only to catch him eating ramen.

Furious at his deception, she tries to leave, but in the scuffle, the porridge spills on his feet. In the bathroom, as Yun Jiwon tends to his burn, the two agree to date—but only until the lilac bush fades, typically around two weeks. Seok Jiwon then surprises Yun Jiwon by asking her on a date, and to his delight, she agrees. The next day, Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon deliberately act cold toward each other at school to avoid raising suspicion. However, one of the senior teachers arranges a team dinner for the weekend. That evening, both Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon prepare for their date, despite their “bet”. While picking an outfit, Yun Jiwon stumbles upon her old phone and transfers its data to her laptop. She becomes momentarily lost in nostalgia as she glances at old photos. By 6 pm, Yun Jiwon rushes to the bus stop in her casual sportswear. Seok Jiwon’s heart skips a beat as he sees her, a flood of fond memories from their dating days surfacing. Awkwardly, the two drive to a restaurant Seok Jiwon picks on the spot. Their playful banter continues in the elevator, where they challenge each other to see who will make the other’s heart race. As they draw closer, the elevator doors open, revealing their colleagues standing outside.

At the dinner table, Seok Jiwon takes the blame, claiming he forced Yun Jiwon into dating him due to a bet and that he has no genuine feelings for her. Ji-hye becomes visibly upset, chugging her drink in frustration. Su-a, fiercely loyal to Yun Jiwon, angrily calls out Seok Jiwon for messing with her friend. After the gathering disperses, Seok Jiwon and Yun Jiwon visit their usual spot by the river, reflecting on life.
