On December 20, Jo Yuri appeared on the “Idol Rush” channel’s web content “Do You Want Some Ramyeon?” alongside Lee Dae Hwi, showcasing their playful chemistry.
During the broadcast, Jo Yuri shared how she landed her role in “Squid Game Season 2“.
She explained, “I received an audition offer through my agency and decided to give it a shot. After completing the first audition, it took about two months to hear back that I passed. Following that, I went through second, third and fourth rounds of auditions. I was recording for an OST when I received the news of my acceptance, and I couldn’t help but burst into tears.”
Reflecting on that moment, she added, “The sweetness of that news matched the effort I had put into it.”
In the upcoming season, Jo Yuri will portray the character Jun Hee, a participant in the deadly game due to incorrect investment information. The announcement of her casting has drawn significant attention from drama enthusiasts and K-pop fans worldwide.
Jo Yuri also shared what inspired her passion for acting, “I joined my high school’s theater club because I wanted to get closer to actress Yoon Ga Yi, who I admired at the time. What started as simple curiosity turned into a genuine love for acting, which eventually shaped my dream of becoming an actress.”
Currently, Jo Yuri continues to pursue her music career alongside her acting ventures. Recently, she received widespread love from fans for her contribution to the OST “Spring days pass” for the drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born”.
Looking ahead, Jo Yuri expressed her desire to explore action roles, “Action is a genre I enjoy, and I’d love to play an unpredictable character. I hope to showcase a wide spectrum of acting through various projects in the future.”
