Hosted by IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, Zico, and Kim Youngdae, the 2024 KBS Global Festival took place on December 20 at Ilsan’s KINTEX, bringing together top K-pop artists and fans from around the world for a night of music and entertainment.
One of the evening’s highlights was a performance by ENHYPEN, who graced the stage in sleek black outfits paired with stylish sunglasses. Their look radiated a chic, charismatic vibe reminiscent of a high-fashion runway show. With a commanding presence, ENHYPEN delivered a captivating set that included powerful renditions of their tracks “No Doubt,” “Brought the Heat Back,” and “Daydream.”
Despite the exciting performances, the event was marred by significant production issues, most notably with the camera work. The direction fell short of expectations, with poorly executed shots that often veered away from the performing members. Instead of focusing on the performers, the broadcast featured inexplicable side angles and wide shots that disrupted the visual flow, leaving viewers frustrated and detracting from the overall experience.
The situation worsened during ENHYPEN’s stage when a glaring broadcast mishap occurred. A staff member inadvertently walked into the camera’s frame, and their face was fully visible as they passed in front of a side camera. Realizing the mistake, the staff member quickly ducked to avoid further exposure, but the damage was already done. The moment underscored a lack of coordination and preparation from the production team, sparking disappointment among fans who expected a seamless viewing experience from such a prestigious event.
