On the morning of December 22nd, the YouTube channel “DdeunDdeun” uploaded a new video titled “The 2nd Pinggyego Awards”.
In the video, Best Work Award selected by subscribers (Gyewon) went to Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Jo Se-ho and Yoo Jae-suk for their “Returning to Lunar New Year Holiday is just an excuse” episode, which attracted more than 10 million views. However, only Gong Yoo was absent from the award ceremony due to his personal schedule so he sent an acceptance speech video instead.
Gong Yoo appeared in his message video and greeted, “Hello, I’m Yoo Gong”, introducing himself with the nickname Yoo Jae-suk gave him in “Pinggyego”. He continued, “It’s such an honor for me to receive the Best Work Award at the 2nd Pinggyego Awards ceremony. It’s been 23 years since my debut but this is my first time receiving a Best Work Award. So I’m even happier”.
He also emphasized, “And more than anything else I think it’s a meaningful award since it was selected through the Gyewon’s votes. And, I’m also glad that I received this award, not by myself, but along with Dong-wook, Se-ho and Jae-suk. Once again, thank you so much for giving me this heavy, big and happy award. I hope Pinggyego can continue bringing joy to many people in the future. And please love me, Gong Yoo as well”.
He then added, “Ah and Jae-suk hyung, you texted me the day I went on air on Yoo Inna Radio, saying ‘Gong Yoo, I enjoyed watching you on Yoo Inna Radio…’. You are not upset, are you?”, making everyone burst into laughter.
