In the ending credit of “Squid Game 2”, Park Jong-nam appeared as “gonggi hand stand-in”. Park Jong-nam was once introduced on SBS’s program “Life’s Master” as “master of gonggi”.

Park Jong-nam recently made a post on his Instagram, drawing attention by revealing a behind-the-scenes story about shooting for “Squid Game 2”. He said, “2 days before my wedding last year, the PD of ‘Life’s Master’ contacted me”.

He continued, “He said it was for a global OTT project so I went to Daejeon for the shoot, but was asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. During lunch, I had a chance to eat and chat with many famous actors such as Lee Byung-hun, Lee Jung-jae and Kang Ha-neul”.

Park Jong-nam added, “They asked me how I played gonggi so well and congratulated me on my marriage. However, what I regretted the most was that I could not take any photos with them or get their autographs according to the confidentiality agreement”.

Revealing that he had to film a gonggi playing scene in one take, Park Jong-nam shared, “Kang Ha-neul helped me to calm down before and after the shoot. He asked me to teach him how to play gonggi and we played together”, emphasizing Kang Ha-neul’s friendliness.

After the shoot, Kang Ha-neul gave Park Jong-nam bread as a gift for his wife. Park Jong-nam said, “I could understand why Kang Ha-neul became this successful”, complimenting the actor for his warm heart.

Park Jong-nam shared, “I didn’t even know it was a shoot for ‘Squid Game 2’. I finished filming it before my wedding and kept it a secret for a year”, adding “I hoped this movie, with the scene I filmed right before my wedding, would be a success. I also enjoyed watching ‘Squid Game 2’ with my wife”.

The gonggi scene, which was completed by combining Park Jong-nam’s hand movements with Kang Ha-neul’s acting, contributed greatly to enhancing the completeness of “Squid Game 2”.
