On January 6, 2025, BOYNEXTDOOR If I Say I Love You music video was released, becoming the South Korean Boyband’s second digital single and it is already taking us by storm. The song brings a youthful energy, warming us up this winter month as the band members’ vocals harmonize in ways that make you play the song on a loop. Dedicated to their fans, the band sings I Love You to their fans in different languages, conveying the love they hold for them.
This is the band’s second digital single since their debut on May 30, 2023, and is surely a song to be remembered as it fills the air with a youthful vibe that fits the members. The group consists of six members- Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak. Each holding a talent unique from most of the industry’s big hits, this group is certainly rising to become a favourite among many.

We have to begin this review by pointing out the beautiful aesthetics of the song that have certainly done a good job of catching my attention right from the beginning. Be it the visuals of the members, or the overall feel of the scene with which the song begins, my attention was right into the music video since the moment it began. When a music video captures your attention right from the beginning, you know you’re in for a good ride and this song certainly proved this point.
As the foundation set up in the song with a failed confession of the member, it soon moves on to showing his clumsy life with others as he loses his energy. The failed confession has certainly done its work as we see him messing up simple things, with the lyrics saying how he doesn’t even feel like picking up the guitar. But these scenes can also belong to the time before the confession as words spelling “Say It” keep popping around the members soon after.
While the music video plays in a smooth sequence, the lyrics unfold the love sickness that’s really playing throughout the song. The emotions beautifully connect as what we see and what we hear merge in ways that we find ourselves connecting with the song better. Finding our own teenage or early 20s emotions in the song, we cannot help but let out a laugh at some points ourselves.
Moving on from the beautiful lyrics, we have to talk about the aesthetics of the video that have captured by heart. It is not just the snow-covered forest, but also the simple scenes that I cannot stop looking at. While the forest is certainly my favourite, each scene that passes by brings a sense of unique youthfulness that is hard to resist.
The band is really making its name known to all as they don’t just bring about a beautiful music video or a beautiful song, but know how to heighten the affect it has with their voice. The members really deserve appreciation for the way they sing the song with such an energetic vibe that reaches out to the audience.
Altogether, I have absolutely loved this music video and this is making me look forward to what other wonderful projects the bands holds for the rest of the year.
