On Jan 5th, MBC’s official YouTube channel released a video titled “[When the Phone Rings Making] Final Special Behind-the-Scenes Moments from ‘When the Phone Rings’”.
In the video, Yoo Yeon-seok and Chae Soo-bin exuded a lively and cheerful atmosphere, playing pranks on each other even while filming serious scenes.
While preparing for an imaginative scene, Yoo Yeon-seok meticulously practiced his lines, paying close attention to his tone. At one point, Chae Soo-bin couldn’t hold back her laughter as he stepped closer to her.
The two showcased their sweet chemistry, selecting their favorite couple Polaroid photos together. In a romantic scene in front of a Christmas tree, Yoo Yeon-seok swept Chae Soo-bin into his arms, captivating viewers.
Yoo Yeon-seok delivered a delicate emotional performance in the confrontation scene with the kidnapper, earning praise from the director, who exclaimed, “Perfect!” Even after the scene was over, he remained teary-eyed, demonstrating his deep immersion in the role.
Sharing his thoughts on wrapping up the drama, Yoo Yeon-seok said, “We finished filming safely today. I feel a great sense of regret thinking about when I’ll get to meet everyone again.”
Chae Soo-bin confessed, “It didn’t feel real that filming was over, but when we were shooting the drone shot, seeing all the staff waving toward the sky suddenly made me emotional. I realized how attached I’d become. It was such a joy to work on a good project with wonderful people.”
When asked about the most memorable scenes, both Yoo Yeon-seok and Chae Soo-bin picked the scenes set in Argan, giving the same answer and drawing attention.
Meanwhile, MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “When the Phone Rings” concluded its run with episode 12, achieving its highest nationwide viewership rating of 8.6% (according to Nielsen Korea). “When the Phone Rings” is a story that unfolds when a Show Window couple, who have been living without speaking to each other for three years in an arranged marriage, receive a threatening phone call from a kidnapper. It ended on a high note, earning widespread popularity.
