The drama is titled “A Hundred Memories”.
According to JTBC’s announcement on January 9, “A Hundred Memories” is a period drama set in the 1980s, capturing the radiant youth and bittersweet first loves of bus attendants. The story weaves together romance, growth, humanity and comedy, centering on the lives of three young individuals intertwined aboard the 100 bus. The drama is written by Yang Hee-seung and directed by Kim Sang-ho, raising expectations with their collaboration.
The series portrays the sentiments of the 1980s. Kim Da-mi plays the lead role of Go Young-rye, a young woman who works as a bus attendant to make a living while nurturing dreams of going to college. Despite enduring motion sickness on the bus, she perseveres with determination. Shin Ye-eun takes on the role of Seo Jong-hee, an energetic and lively friend who shares a close bond with Young-rye.
Heo Nam-jun has been cast as Han Jae-pil, a man connected to both women. Jae-pil, born as the son of a department store owner, carries hidden wounds and a complex inner world. The intertwined emotions of these characters, set against the backdrop of the era, are expected to deliver a deeply immersive experience.
This marks Kim Da-mi’s return to JTBC after five years since her role in “Itaewon Class“. The series achieved national ratings of 16.548% and metropolitan area ratings of 18.328%, ranking fifth in JTBC’s all-time drama list. Kim Da-mi received widespread acclaim for her distinctive performance in the show. Many are now eagerly watching to see if “A Hundred Memories” will once again create a ratings sensation.
The production team of “A Hundred Memories” commented, “Even as times change, the sparkling lives of youths who don’t lose their dreams and hopes amid the weight and struggles of life shine brightly. This is a drama that viewers can laugh and cry with together.” They added that the series will go beyond a simple romance to encompass the hardships and aspirations of young people in that era.
“A Hundred Memories” is scheduled to air in the second half of the year.
