Fans have drawn speculations over SM Entertainment’s newest video for its 30th anniversary, claiming the agency might have shown one of its female trainees.
On January 9, Korean netizens flocked under a community forum post, titled “SM Just Revealed Their New Girl Group Member at Their 30th Anniversary.” In the video posted on social media, the female protagonist was shown to be honing her dance skills in a practice room.
After the girl stops dancing to take a break, the video then cuts to a scene showing her walking across a hallway and looking at a wall displaying several music videos of SM artists, such as BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, aespa, and many more.
The girl then looks at the camera, which led to netizens’ visual comparisons. Netizens have also speculated that the girl in the video might be hinted as one of SM’s SMNGG (SM’s New Girl Group) trainees.
Furthermore, they also resembled the girl’s visuals to numerous idols such as aespa’s Karina, TWICE’s Nayeon, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, and ITZY’s Lia.
One netizen commented, “She reminds me of Karina during her debut days.”
Another shared, “My mom just called her Karina and Jenny.”
A third one joined, “Karina and Nayeon, that’s the vibe she gives, and she is pretty.”
A fourth one said, “(She looks like) Karina, Nayeon and ITZY’s Lia.”
