Previously known for his role as the compassionate profiler Gu Dae-hong in “Doubt”, Roh Jae-won made a drastic transformation in “Squid Game 2”. He played Nam-gyu, contestant #124, a former club MD and the self-proclaimed right-hand man of famous rapper “Thanos”. His character torments timid participants in the game.
Born on October 13, 1993, Roh Jae-won debuted in 2020 with the short film “Driving School”. He gained recognition with his performance as a delusional civil service exam student in Netflix’s series “Daily Dose of Sunshine”, a role for which he spent two months living in a goshiwon (small dormitory) in Noryangjin to immerse himself in the character. On December 28, 2024, Roh Jae-won won the Best New Actor Award at the 10th APAN Star Awards, hosted by the Korea Entertainment Management Association and Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, for his performances in “Doubt” and “Daily Dose of Sunshine”. In his acceptance speech, he expressed, “I wanted to pour my whole heart into acting. I’ll continue to act passionately because I love it.”
