aespa Raises the Bar High After Viral Video of Group’s Stage at TMA 2024: ‘They Nailed It!’

In a viral video, aespa shocked K-pop fans after doing THIS at the 2024 The Fact Music Awards.

On Sept. 7th and 8th, TMA 2024 was held to recognize the brightest K-pop artists who made waves this year. The winners were revealed during the ceremony that took place in Japan.

Among the nominees, aespa made noise by becoming the first-ever girl group to bring home the Grand Prize (Daesang) trophy in TMA’s history since its launch in 2019. On top of this, the quartet bagged two awards: “Artist of the Year” and “Listener’s Choice.”

To express their appreciation to MYs (fandom) and attendees who sincerely congratulated the team, the four-member SM Entertainment artist showcased 3 incredible performances, including “Set the Tone” and “Armageddon.”

While these two hit songs already hyped the crowd, what astonished spectators the most was when aespa delivered “Supernova” as their encore.

Karina, Giselle, Winter, and NingNing sang live while performing the choreography in a light manner. But they earned respect when netizens found out they didn’t use backtrack and in-ear monitors.

In a venue filled with a huge crowd, these two tools shouldn’t be missed to keep track of the audio, check if they are still on the right key, and also a way to prevent airgap in case they forget to sing.

But it seems like it is much easier for the team to sing live than lipsync some parts as they still served a perfect performance without it.

In an online community then, the video went viral and K-Netz was thrilled that in an era where idols had a hard time singing live, there was still a group comprised of true singers.
