On November 4, G-Dragon arrived at Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport to depart for Hong Kong, where he would attend Chanel’s 2024/25 Cruise Replica Show. His appearance in Tesla’s electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck, caught significant public attention.
The Cybertruck, Tesla’s bold venture, is a massive truck with a length of 5.7 meters, a width of 2.2 meters, and a weight of 3.1 tons. Its futuristic, angular exterior made of metal gives it a distinctive look. The price varies by model, ranging from $60,990 (about 83.56 million KRW) to $99,990 (about 136.96 million KRW).
While the Cybertruck’s controversial design and high price led to low initial demand, recent sales have picked up. Tesla reported Q3 revenue of $25.18 billion, an 8% year-over-year increase, with operating profit jumping 54% to $2.717 billion and net profit rising 17% to $2.167 billion.
However, the Cybertruck has not been released in South Korea, and the vehicle G-Dragon used reportedly had a temporary license plate.
Known for setting trends, G-Dragon’s choice to drive the Cybertruck has stirred curiosity over whether the truck will see a surge in popularity upon its domestic release.
On the same day, G-Dragon drew attention with his unique fashion. He paired jeans with a red Chanel knit sweater, a colorful cap emblazoned with “POWER”, and a jumbo-sized Chanel bag. He completed the look with a scarf wrapped over his hat for added flair.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon made a comeback after seven years with his new single “POWER”. The music video surpassed 10 million views within a day of release, and the song quickly climbed to the top of domestic music charts.
