After ILLIT, Another Girl Group is Accused of Copying NewJeans?

Recently, TOP Media has unveiled several images of their upcoming girl group, ODD YOUTH. The group drew attention as it included popular “Girls Planet 999” contestant Guinn Myah.

However, ODD YOUTH is now becoming the talk of town due to a rather negative topic – allegations of them copying NewJeans.

Particularly, images of the group, which show 5 members wearing Y2K fashion and donning straight natural-colored hair, remind a lot of netizens of NewJeans, who also adopt the youthful and Y2K concept.

As a result, various allegations of ODD YOUTH copying NewJeans and comments calling them a “NewJeans copy” start to emerge.

However, many netizens argue otherwise, stating that the Y2K concept is not owned by NewJeans and is just a trendy thing, especially among 5th generation K-pop groups.

Some also start to recall the case of Min Hee-jin accusing ILLIT of copying NewJeans, which still remains a highly debated topic today.
