On December 16, the YouTube channel Zzan Bro (짠한형 신동엽) featured an episode with Bae Doona and Lee Soo-hyun, stars of the Coupang Play series Family Matters.
During the show, Jung Ho-chul asked Bae Doona, “I heard you learned to ride a bike from Won Bin. Is that true?”
Bae Doona confirmed, saying, “Yes, it’s true. When I was 20, I worked with Won Bin on the drama Madness. At the time, I didn’t know how to ride a two-wheeled bicycle.”
She explained further, “When I mentioned it to the director, he incorporated a scene into the script where Won Bin teaches me how to ride a bike. Now, I’m good enough to commute to work by bicycle.”
Bae Doona also shared her views on public dating, saying, “It’s something an actor could choose to reveal voluntarily. But as actors, we have to take on diverse roles. Having your personal life become a topic of interest or associating someone with you in a public way doesn’t help with professional immersion.”
She added, “If my name appears in an article not as ‘actress Bae Doona’ but with my partner’s name attached, I think I’d feel upset.”
In response, host Shin Dong-yup asked, “As a senior, is your advice to new actress Lee Soo-hyun to make sure her relationships never get exposed?” Bae Doona candidly replied, “Yes, exactly. I think it’s good to date a lot without being caught.”
This prompted Lee Soo-hyun to suddenly bring up the SNL Korea skit featuring Lee Sora, catching Shin Dong-yup off guard. Shin Dong-yup explained, “I’m grateful that Lee Sora appeared on the show. In Korean culture, it’s not easy for ex-partners to meet again and work together.”
When asked how she would feel about working on a project with an ex, Bae Doona replied, “If I were cast in something and an ex happened to be involved, it’s inevitable. It would be completely separate from my work.”
Shin Dong-yup joked, “For someone who’s dated as much as you have, your relationships haven’t been that public, right?” Bae Doona laughed and admitted, “Yes, they’ve been far less public than you’d think.”
Later in the show, after having a few drinks, Bae Doona danced confidently with Lee Soo-hyun in front of the cameras, making Shin Dong-yup burst into laughter repeatedly at her carefree performance.
