Blackpink Rosé Exhausted After 10 Consecutive Days of Recording for Her Album

K-pop idol Rosé from Blackpink is causing a global sensation with her song “APT.” in collaboration with 15-time Grammy-winning pop star Bruno Mars.

“APT.” is currently dominating the number one spot on both Spotify and iTunes global charts, and it’s also at number one on Spotify in the US. In South Korea, the song has swept the top position on all major music charts.

“APT.” serves as the pre-release single for Rosé’s first full album titled Rosie, which will feature 12 tracks and is set to be released on December 6.

In a recent interview, Rosé shared that she has poured her heart and soul into this album.

The singer revealed that she flew to Los Angeles for several weeks, intending to record the songs continuously over 14 days. However, by the 10th day, she became exhausted.

As a result, she canceled the recording sessions scheduled for the weekend to rest. But when she finally had some time off, Rosé found herself not knowing what to do. She ended up heading back to a different studio and recorded another song for the album.

Rosé expressed that during the making of the album, she felt “addicted” to being in the studio.

Additionally, when attending meetings with Atlantis Records, Rosé tried to maintain her independence, adopting a “boss” attitude, often saying, “So, what do you have for me?” She emphasized that this album holds great significance for her, so she wanted everything to be perfect.

Rosé’s revelations have surprised many and earned her admiration for the dedication she has poured into this album.

So far, the song “APT.” has maintained its number one position on both the global and US Spotify charts for two consecutive days. The song’s streaming numbers have consistently increased over the four days since its release.

On October 21, “APT.” achieved 14.18 million streams globally on Spotify and 1.96 million streams in the US — marking Rosé’s highest streaming numbers for a single song to date.

Rosé still holds the record as the first K-pop female solo artist in history to reach number one on the global Spotify chart and the first K-pop female artist to top the Spotify US chart. “APT.” also boasts the highest single-day streaming numbers for a song by an Asian female artist.

“APT.” is projected to debut at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and claim the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 next week.
