BLACKPINK’s Jisoo’s Co-star Exposed for Sexist Behavior, Insulted Suzy and Moon Geun-young?

Previously, a topic exposing actor Park Jung-min’s sexist behavior and mindset was published on the SNS platform X (formerly Twitter). The post has quickly gained attention, and has since become a hot topic both on Korean forums and international platforms.

The topic pinpointed a total of 6 major accusations, as detailed below:

First, Park Jung-min is a fan of girl group QWER, whose members have shown anti-feminist sentiments while live-streaming in the past.

Second, Park Jung-min once sang a song from Black Nut during a movie premiere, with insulting lyrics such as, “I told my mom that I would come home with a bus full of prostitutes”, despite the premiere being attended by numerous high school girls.

Third, during the first edition of his self-published essay, Park Jung-min mentioned the movie “Architecture 101”, and described Suzy’s character as a “gold-digger”. This excerpt eventually got removed from the essay’s 2nd and 3rd editions.

Fourth, the actor also described Moon Geun-young, a former co-star, in an insulting manner. In particular, when discussing her, Park Jung-min said, “I don’t know why I keep getting casted only with men. I want to work with actresses too”, which basically devalues the actress’ identity as a woman.

Fifth, he justified the male tradition of not doing any chores during the holidays in Korea. According to the actor at the time, it’s in the men’s genres to lie down.

Sixth, Park Jung-min is close to a person who used extremely insulting terms to describe the female genitals. Meanwhile, another friend of his drew a comic about going on a date with a feminist, which included a graphic scene of the feminist being punched in the face.

As discussion continues, Park Jung-min’s side still has not addressed any of the aforementioned accusations.

Since he’s set to star alongside BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in the K-drama “Newtopia”, many are concerned that such an issue will negatively affect the work.
