BLACKPINK’s Lisa, BABYMONSTER, and More Robbed in 2024 MAMA Nominations?

On October 14, the full nomination list for the 2024 MAMA Awards (Mnet Asian Music Awards) was announced, drawing significant attention.

However, fans of certain artists have since voiced their complaints, believing that their favorites were “robbed” of rightful nominations in certain categories. Among the most vocal are fans of YG girl group BABYMONSTER and BLACKPINK’s Lisa.

In particular, these people pointed out that MAMA suddenly changed its criteria for Best Music Video, leading to BABYMONSTER and Lisa, who was previously predicted to be among the likely winners, not getting any nominations in this category.

Meanwhile, ATEEZ were not nominated for any category aside Worldwide Fan’s Choice and Album of the Year, shocking the group’s fans as 2024 was a successful year for the boy group, who even appeared at Coachella.

Additionally, despite its excellent chart performance, LE SSERAFIM’s “Perfect Night” was not nominated for Song of The Year, and the girl group’s later song, “Crazy”, received a nomination instead.

As “Crazy” was released much later and ranked lower on Korea charts, many fans suspected that MAMA nominated this song instead of “Perfect Night” to snub LE SSERAFIM of winning.

On top of that, bands like DAY6 and QWER, which have been topping Korean charts for months, are also missing from the nomination list, infuriating fans and netizens.
