According to Google Trends, V topped the list of K-pop stars with the highest search volume this year. Google Trends is a platform that analyzes the popularity of search queries across various regions and languages.
Out of the 79 countries where Google Trends data is compiled, V ranked #1 in 71 countries, including major regions such as the U.S., U.K. and Japan, with only a few exceptions in parts of the Middle East and Central Asia.
Since BTS’s debut on June 13, 2013, V has consistently held the title of the most-searched K-pop star on Google. In previous years, including 2021 and 2022, he was also the most-searched Asian celebrity on Google Trends.
Despite being inactive due to military service, V’s unparalleled popularity and star power continue to make headlines, as he remains the most-searched K-pop star globally in 2024.
In addition to dominating the K-pop category, V ranked 4th among the most-searched male pop stars worldwide in 2024, following global icons Drake, Eminem and Justin Bieber.
Among pop stars born in the 1990s, V achieved the highest ranking for a K-pop artist at 12th place, joining the ranks of global stars such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles and Billie Eilish.
In 2021, information channel Reigarw Comparisons recognized V as the “Most Successful Personality Born in 1995” in their rankings of the most famous individuals by birth year.
V’s influence extends beyond Google Trends to other key indicators of popularity, such as Wikipedia. He became the first K-pop star to surpass 10 million views on an English-language page, continuing to hold the record for the most views.
In 2024, V ranked 7th in the list of “Most Searched Male Pop Stars Worldwide” on Wikipedia and claimed the #1 spot among K-pop solo artists.
