While I mentioned I didn’t miss much on the music side during the break, oh boy did I apparently miss a bunch of news stuff that feels almost too late to cover in individual articles. Thus, you get this big-ass catchup.

Let’s go.

Unfortunately for Kim Hyunjae, nothing can really give him the chance to continue on Peak Time, which he had to withdraw from. With regards to Haru’s situation, I’m sure people are happy about that, but they also aren’t the ones paying her bills now, right? Right, so maybe they should’ve just left it alone. Meanwhile, G-Dragon getting the trademark rights is interesting, and it continues a trend of idols doing so.

The two biggest items from this section is Hwarang leaving seemingly due to clubbing and the former FIFTY FIFTY members inking with a new company. Hwarang and Yuehua Entertainment say it’s mutual, but that’s hard to believe. Yuehua are being vague about it, like he did something beyond that, but who knows. As for the former FIFTY FIFTY members, I’m honestly really shocked a company took a chance on them with the ongoing lawsuits and all, but they’re likely hoping that their international support can carry them to relevancy as a trio. They’re targeting later this year for a comeback, which is also a quick turnaround, and the company seems supportive so it’s good for them.

Also, hopefully Kang Daniel can have a company that isn’t dogshit now at least.

Honestly terrifying injuries for Gyuri, but she seems to be handling it well. The Kotoko situation looked like it could’ve been significantly worse, so hopefully the company is honest about her health. It’s always … convenient how they immediately say they prioritize artist health when stuff like this happens that they can’t deny.

Two of those things are expected, but the Jun thing seems a bit surprising. Not sure how concerned fans are, but historically it’s worth a bit of worry.

Of course the (G)I-DLE donation to the Korean Red Cross is the funniest because of the Geneva Convention violation stuff.

Congrats!
