After being spotted engaging in “girl hunting” activities in France just four months after his release from prison, Jung Joon-young—the sex offender involved in the Burning Sun scandal—was seen again on August 31st.
In particular, a French netizen shared a video and photo of Jung Joon-young in the city.
The post’s author shared the footage with a warning to the online community, “Oh my God, everyone, Jung Joon-young is in France. I just saw him in Normal de Barbès. Be careful.”
The person also expressed their fear, saying they were “creeped out” by the sex offender’s long, disheveled hair and dangerous-looking eyes.
Earlier, it was reported that the most dangerous sex offender in the Burning Sun scandal had decided to stay in Lyon, France, to start a new life. Jung bragged about opening a restaurant in France to several women he met while partying at nightclubs. He repeatedly invited them to the grand opening and promised discounts to attractive women.
“France is not just a place for Jung Joon-young to relax. He has told people he will open a Korean restaurant here. If you go to France, avoid his restaurant,” a source reported at the time.
On the other hand, Jung Joon-young was sentenced to 5 years in prison for sexually assaulting women, illegally filming them, and distributing the videos in a sexual group chat. He was officially released from prison on March 19, 2024. Korean media speculate that Jung Joon-young may emigrate to another country, raising public concern. In a new location, he could potentially repeat the horrifying crimes he committed in Korea, and there is a significant risk that more victims could emerge if he is not strictly monitored.
