Castaway Diva Episode 6 Recap

Mok-ha’s question leaves Ha-jung stunned as she regains herself and denies knowing anyone by the name Jung Ki-ho. She explains to Mok-ha that the saying is something every mother tells their child and not something only she speaks of after which she leaves. Meanwhile, Bo-geol takes Woo-hak away from Bong-wan’s house and prepares to tell him everything about their past.

A flashback shows the two brothers trying to hide from their abusive father, but to no avail as the young Ki-ho confronts their father and tells him about how they would have been happier without him in their life. Ki-ho’s confrontation leaves Bong-wan angry as he picks up a chair but ends up harming the elder brother, Woo-hak.

Finding out about this, Woo-hak tells Bo-geol to get back their identities and face their father without hiding any longer. However, Bo-geol is against it and tells him that revealing themselves will only be harmful to their family, causing endless troubles. Elsewhere, Mok-ha dreams about the time when a boar made its way to the deserted island.

The next morning, Woo-hak surprises everyone with his behaviour after which Ha-jung talks to Bo-geol about what Mok-ha asked her the previous night. Bo-geol tells her that the man who appeared in front of Mok-ha was Bong-wan and that they needed to keep her safe from the man.

Meanwhile, Ran-joo rejoices early in the morning after Byung-gak tells her about the rising popularity of her albums. Woo-hak sees her dancing around and goes to Mok-ha with the news that Ki-ho is already married and is living a good life. He then passes on a pen drive to her which is the same one Ki-ho had given her 15 years back with her music video.

Mok-ha is surprised and while she wants to believe it, she is unable to make up her mind. She tells Ran-joo about what happened with Ha-jung and the pen drive, which leaves them both wondering about the possibility that one of the Kang brothers is Ki-ho. Elsewhere, Woo-hak is given the responsibility to check on Dae-woong’s accident where he meets Mok-ha’s friend from the past- Moon Young-ju.

He notices the problems surrounding the case, beginning with the missing memory card from the dashcam; unaware that it is in Bong-wan’s hand at the moment. On the other hand, Ran-joo’s popularity is on the rise when she finds out that her next competitor is not another song from the past but the popular star- Eun Mo-rae.

The news leaves the two baffled as Mok-ha goes to argue with the production team of the show who are happy about having two popular stars on their two. However, Yong-kwan’s arrival puts a pause on her argument as he points at his phone, while Bo-geol’s behaviour leaves her feeling alone. He then tells the production team that Mo-rae will be lip-syncing her performance which is accepted by everyone.

Elsewhere, Ran-joo tries to find out more about her condition and finds out that her surgery was a success leaving the possibility of a psychological barrier which is affecting her. Ran-joo recalls her past as Seo-jun slowly replaced her with Mo-rae after her surgery. Meanwhile, Mo-rae recalls feeling like a substitute for Mok-ha at the beginning of her career as she was slowly replacing Ran-joo.

Later that day, Ha-jung tries to convince Mok-ha to become a hairdresser instead of chasing her dreams of becoming a singer. Bo-geol overhears this and later tells Mok-ha to ignore what his mother told her. Mok-ha is angered by his advice and tells him that she thought that he was Ki-ho but now she is sure that he is not.

Bo-geol is surprised and asks her why he couldn’t be Ki-ho; Mok-ha tells him that he is weak and unreliable which angers him. Bo-geol then asks why she stayed silent in front of Yong-kwan to which Mok-ha tells him that she cannot reveal the reason. The two stay silent as they both are aware of the troubles occupying themselves and stop the argument.

Elsewhere, Bong-wan finds clues about Ki-ho’s whereabouts when going through Dae-woong’s dashcam which revealed that he knew Ki-ho’s location this whole time. On the other hand, Mok-ha wakes up from another nightmare and goes out to see Woo-hak with whom she has a heart-to-heart conversation about her singing.

The next morning, Mok-ha joins Ran-joo in her meditation and talks about the boar she had faced on the island which is just like Mo-rae in their lives right now. Later, the two make their way to the shooting location while Bo-geol gets news that the producer is in the hospital due to appendicitis.

Mok-ha and Ran-joo arrive at the location to see the place surrounded by Mo-rae’s fans; while Ran-joo can take another entrance, she decides to face this challenge with her head held high and enters the venue. Right then, Mo-rae arrives and is greeted by cheers from the fans.

Castaway Diva Episode 6 Ending

Seeing Mo-rae act innocent in front of herself, Ran-joo calls Mo-ha and introduces her to Mo-rae who becomes anxious upon seeing the woman she had replaced in the past. While the show’s team check Mo-rae’s audio for her performance and is shocked by the editing done to her voice, Bo-geol makes his way to check on it again when he comes across Mok-ha and Mo-rae having a confrontation.

However, this time Mok-ha does not back down after seeing Yong-kwan’s warning and tells Mo-rae to sing live if she dares. Only by beating Ran-joo in a live singing battle will she acknowledge Mo-rae’s talent and hard work, otherwise she isn’t worthy of replacing Mok-ha either. Bo-geol intervenes here and calls the two to the projection room.

There he hands them the script and Yong-kwan confirms that Mo-rae’s performance will be lip-synced, however, Bo-geol changes his words here and tells them that their performances will be live. This shocks Mo-rae as she walks out of there while Yong-kwan tries to argue by pointing at Ran-joo and Mok-ha who have been cheating this whole time.

Bo-geol tells him that he is aware of what they have been doing, which is why this time both Mo-rae and Ran-joo will be singing live. If Ran-joo can win this round then Mok-ha will be going up on stage this time instead of Ran-joo.

Elsewhere, Woo-hak confronts his father Kang Sang-doo about his returning memories and asks him about the whole truth. He assures him that he will protect the family with the identity of a reporter which finally breaks Sang-doo’s shell. On the other hand, in a lake far away from the city lies a secret hidden from the world which has to do with the truth the Kang family has been trying to hide.

Castaway Diva Episode 6 Review

Episode 6 brings us to the end of the first half of the show and the real challenge will now begin for Mok-ha whose dream and Ki-ho are at stake. This episode has brought us to an almost confirmation of who the real Ki-ho is and brings Mok-ha closer to the friend she has been searching for.

Meanwhile, Ran-joo’s life is also taking a turn and it looks like it won’t be long until she too gets her voice back because clearly, it is a mental barrier which is leaving her unable to hit those high notes. However, the past is once again breaking my heart as we see her facing betrayal from the person she trusted so much.

And Mok-ha too, her past never fails to leave us wondering how she survived this whole time and once again, Park Eun-bin’s performance is leaving me mesmerised. From her satoori to her portrayal of the character Mok-ha, she is flawless with her performance once again.

Finally, do what do you think is the secret hidden in the lake? Is there a possibility that there is some other secret hidden behind the boy named Ki-ho? Let us know in the comments below!
