Chinese Fans Hold Event To Celebrate Ex-SNSD Jessica’s Debut Anniversary In Front Of SM Building

Starting from August 3rd, Jessica’s Chinese fandom put up 60 banners with congratulatory messages and photos of Jessica near SM Entertainment’s building in Seongdong-gu, Seoul to commemorate her 17th debut anniversary.

It is known that Jessica’s Chinese fandom already planned and announced this event on July 20th. In particular, they even announced a drone and fireworks show in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul to support Jessica on August 5th, her debut day.

In response to such a spectacular ‘debut celebration show’, some K-pop fans are expressing discomfort. Jessica left Girls’ Generation in 2014 and her relationship with SM Entertainment ended a long time ago, therefore, many questioned if fans should hold such events in front of SM building.

Without Jessica, 8 members of Girls’ Generation reunited to celebrate their 17th debut anniversary together. Except for Sunny, who is currently living in the US, 7 members gathered to take a group photo and strengthen their friendship.

Meanwhile, Jessica signed an exclusive contract with Coridel Entertainment after leaving Girls’ Generation. She has been carrying out both entertainment activities and fashion businesses at the same time.

In particular, Jessica drew attention as she became the runner-up in Season 3 of the Chinese girl group survival show “Sisters Who Make Waves”
