ChoA, Crayon Pop’s former main vocal singer, shared news of having cervical cancer through SNS shortly after getting married last year.
The 34-year-old singer, whose real name is Park ChoA, took to Instagram on Oct. 14 to reveal her diagnosis and what events led up to discovering it. During a prenatal appointment last May, she was told the news that would change her world.
ChoA continued, “I was only 33 when I got cancer. In May of last year, approximately a year into our blissful marriage, I went for a hospital visit to check on my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer on that day.”
On October 23, ChoA told her fans that she had been admitted to the hospital for surgery. “Thank you to my husband, who has been caring for me through all this.”

In her post, she wrote “I’m so sorry and thankful to my husband doing this job for me. “Oh well, I guess I’m going to stop showing up here now.”
After debuting with the girl group Crayon Pop in 2012, ChoA became a household name thanks to their viral sensation “Bar Bar Bar.”
ChoA has since pursued a career as a musical actress and YouTuber and appeared recently on JTBC show “Singer Gain – Battle of the Unknown Singers”.
The public has gotten behind her with support as she writes candidly about this new, challenging journey.
