On February 14, Choi Woo Shik sat down for an interview with Netflix and shared his honest feelings for his comeback drama “A Killer Paradox.”

Starring alongside Son Seok Koo, the actor portrayed an ordinary young man who becomes a hitman of bad guys after accidentally killing South Korea’s high profile serial killer.

Through the work, Choi Woo Shik showed a bold side of himself, which left fans speechless. According to the actor, he intentionally bulked up for “A Killer Paradox.”

One scene was focused on his arm which thankfully appeared thick. Choi Woo Shik joked to the director, saying that the acting double looked great on camera to which the latter agreed.

However, he didn’t have an acting double in that scene. It also wasn’t edited to omit being “one-dimensional” but rather, everything was because of Choi Woo Shik’s hard work.

“I tried bulking up for the drama but it was so difficult,” Choi Woo Shik shared. “I reached my maximum weight while filming this work. It was a huge challenge for me as an actor.”

Choi Woo Shik was naturally skinny, which he claimed to be a “serious concern” in changing his image. He also declined on specific weight figures, saying that it’s hard to talk about numbers.

Despite his difficulties, he was able to transform his “nice guy” image and created a better appearance for his challenging role as a serial killer in “A Killer Paradox.”

Choi Woo Shik Reveals Plans In Acting Career

Changing his image was a stepping stone for Choi Woo Shik in becoming more open for intriguing and unconventional roles.

According to him, he doesn’t want to wear a school uniform anymore but rather plans to switch things up. He said, “I want to show my fans something new.”

“At 33, I don’t want to play a high school guy anymore,” the actor shared. “I want to shoot bolder scenes with guns and horses. I want to have that kind of image.”

Through “A Killer Paradox,” Choi Woo Shik successfully hooked the viewers with his portrayal of a serial killer, making the work one of the most streamed since it was released.
