Condom Brand Apologized after The Boyz’s Eric “Pepero Condom” Incident

Earlier, on the morning of the 11th, Eric shared a post with a photo on The Boyz’s official X account to celebrate Pepero Day. However, the item in the picture wasn’t a Pepero snack but rather condoms designed to look like Pepero boxes.

Eric quickly deleted the post and later explained to fans that he had no idea and just picked up the product from a convenience store display.

In response, the condom manufacturer issued a formal apology on their official Instagram account later that afternoon, saying, “We sincerely apologize for the confusion caused.”

The brand stated, “We created this adorable set as a special event product called LOVE DAY 11.11, specifically for November 11th. We’re aware of comments saying, ‘I bought it thinking it was Pepero,’ ‘Why make adult products so cute?’ and ‘Barun Saenggak should apologize.’ We apologize; this was entirely our responsibility.”

The company added, “Our brand’s activities are aimed at reducing negative perceptions when buying or owning contraceptives. The condoms included in this product are considered medical devices, not adult products, and can be purchased by teenagers. If our product can raise awareness, we’ll accept any responsibility for this incident.”

The company also expressed their hope that this incident will foster open-mindedness about contraception, making such products part of everyday life while promoting healthy attitudes toward sexual health. They apologized once again to everyone who may have been confused by the product.

Finally, they added, “We also extend a sincere apology to GS25 store managers who may have mistakenly displayed the product in the snack aisle instead of in the appropriate section.”
