Crayon Pop’s Choa Reveals She Underwent Cervical Cancer Surgery “Diagnosed with Cancer at 33, the Most Difficult Time in My Life”

On Oct 14th, Choa confessed her battle with cervical cancer on her social media account.

She mentioned, “There are many people who are suffering more than I am, so I am being cautious. But I thought that my story might provide some help and hope to someone, even just a little. Cancer has taken away many things from me, but it has also given me great realizations and teachings about the direction of my life, and I am living a much healthier and more vibrant life now.”

Choa shared, “I am facing another surgery soon to preserve my fertility. Since I had to remove my cervix, I will undergo a procedure to tie my uterine body in advance.” She expressed her desire, “There are many hurdles to overcome for pregnancy and childbirth in the future, but I want to meet a beautiful child, become a mother, and provide comfort and hope to those who have gone through similar experiences after being fully cured.

She advised, “If you are going through an extremely difficult and dark time right now, please remember that this too shall pass, and do not let go of the thread of hope.”

In a video released alongside her post, Choa revealed, “I was diagnosed with cancer at 33 years old. In May last year, I was happily celebrating my first year of marriage. I went to the hospital for a prenatal check-up, and that day, I received a cervical cancer diagnosis.” She recounted, “At first, I couldn’t believe it. How could someone as young and healthy as I am have cancer? I wondered if it was a misdiagnosis. I visited five of the best university hospitals in the country.”

She continued, “I underwent various cancer tests, including my first-ever MRI and Pet CT. The diagnosis was Stage 1 cancer. I was told that due to a 3 cm tumor, preserving my fertility would be difficult. It felt like a bolt from the blue, and I cried so much that my legs felt weak and I couldn’t see ahead. It was the most challenging time of my life, but I held my husband’s hands tightly, prayed, and did not give up.” She explained, “To reduce the size of the tumor, I did everything I could. I studied daily, exercised, and completely changed my diet.”

Regarding this, netizens left supportive messages such as, “I’m so glad you are healthy“, “I pray for your recovery and hope you find a beautiful little angel“, “You’ve gone through a tough time” and “I didn’t know you were sick because you always showed a bright appearance.
