According to recent reports, as of the afternoon on December 30, Park Sung-hoon’s personal Instagram account recorded 1.84 million followers, but this figure has increased by about 110,000 followers to 1.95 million on the afternoon of the 31st.
This is a remarkable increase within less than a day, even more surprising when taken into account that the actor recently came under fire for posting explicit Japanese porn with a “Squid Game” theme on his Instagram story.
This action of the actor draws attention, as it cannot be ruled out that some of his underage followers have also seen his explicit posts.
Specifically, previously on December 30, a topic titled “Actor Park Sung-hoon deletes Instagram post immediately” was published on the Korean forum “theqoo”.
According to the post, Park Sung-hoon had uploaded a “Squid Game” themed AV (adult video) cover on his social media account, only to delete it shortly after. The exposed cover image featured Japanese AV actresses parodying Netflix’s “Squid Game” while fully nude.
Even more controversial, the AV in question featured gruelsome content where the female characters are brutally r*pe when they lose the games.
The post’s author commented, “The content was too explicit,” adding, “Park Sung-hoon uploaded the uncensored image without any censoring.”
The post has since gained rapid attention, with most comments criticizing the actor’s actions, such as, “Reactions to him have been good lately, but now he’s ruining his own image”, “The male actors are really going down on their own terms”, and “This is f*cking dirty”.
Later on in the same day, Park Sung-hoon’s agency issued an official response to the controversy, stating, “While checking multiple direct messages (DMs), Park Sung-hoon mistakenly pressed something wrong, causing the image to be uploaded to his story. The actor was startled and deleted it immediately. He is currently reflecting on his actions.”
Meanwhile, Park Sung-hoon recently appeared as the righteous “Player 120” Hyun-joo, who is a transgender woman looking to earn money for her surgery, in the Netflix series “Squid Game Season 2”. Hyun-joo’s interesting storyline, coupled with Park Sung-hoon’s excellent acting, earned a lot of praise.
However, his recent action caused reactions to sour, especially as “Squid Game” was already mocked for being a “criminal haven” with various male actors embroiled in controversies.
