Dispatch Criticized for Stalking NewJeans, Accused of Editing Min Hee-jin’s Texts?

On December 12, Dispatch published an article accusing Min Hee-jin of using NewJeans as a tool and involving herself in the girl group’s press conference and Hanni’s hearing at the national assembly.

In this article, Dispatch released multiple screenshots of Min Hee-jin’s alleged text messages, as well as several photos of the former ADOR CEO and NewJeans members.

However, the photos of Min Hee-jin and NewJeans members basically revealed that Dispatch have stalked them, leading to heavy backlash

Additionally, after seeing the photos and screenshots, many netizens have expressed doubt, pointing out possible evidence of the text messages being maliciously edited. According to a post on SNS platform X, the shapes of text bubbles in Dispatch’s screenshots were inconsistent, and Korean messages are supposed to include “AM/PM” time marks, which Dispatch’s screenshots failed to include.

On top of this, the Dispatch reporter who wrote the article was also revealed to the same one being accused of violating the Personal Information Protection Act by a NewJeans’ fanbase in the past, adding the suspicion.

All of these result in speculations that Dispatch may be working with HYBE in order to demean Min Hee-jin and NewJeans, who rebelled against the conglomerate.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • Reporters are truly HYBE’s guards and combat soldiers
  • Would it be possible for NewJeans’ parents to sue and get a restraining order? Dispatch is truly disgusting
  • Is Dispatch literally stalking a minor?
  • Do they think they are above the law? Stalking is a blatant crime
  • Wow, now that company is even doing illegal things with confidence
