On March 10, the agency of girl group Dreamcatcher, Dreamcatcher company, released an official statement regarding the status of the members’ exclusive contract. The full statement is as below:
“Hello,
This is Dreamcatcher Company.
First and foremost, we sincerely thank all the fans who love and support Dreamcatcher. The exclusive contracts of our artists, Dreamcatcher members Handong, Dami, and Gahyun, are set to expire on March 31, 2025.
After extensive discussions and careful consideration, Dreamcatcher Company and Handong, Dami, and Gahyun have mutually agreed not to renew their contracts while respecting each other’s opinions. Although their official ties with the company will come to an end, they will continue their activities as part of *Dreamcatcher*, based on their deep affection and trust in the group.
We sincerely express our gratitude to Handong, Dami, and Gahyun for their dedication to all activities at Dreamcatcher Company over the past eight years, and we wholeheartedly support their future endeavors. We also extend our deepest appreciation to the fans who have always shown unwavering love and support.
Additionally, throughout this year, we will actively work to support JiU, SuA, Siyeon, and Yoohyeon in pursuing various activities. JiU, SuA, and Yoohyeon will be engaging in unit activities, while Siyeon will explore band activities, offering fans new and exciting performances. We kindly ask for your continued love, support, and encouragement for these unit and band activities, as well as for Handong, Dami, and Gahyun as they embark on a new chapter.

However, despite the statement mentioning continued group activities, many fans show concerns, pointing out previous instances where groups no longer continue with the full member lineup after agency departures. Additionally, the fact that member Handong is originally from China also spark speculations that she may return to her home country for activities instead of pursuing a career in a foreign country,
Meanwhile, members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami originally debuted as MINX in 2014, but the group was later rebranded to Dreamcatcher in 2017 with 2 members – Handong and Gahyun, added. As a K-pop group, Dreamcatcher never failed to stand out with their rock-based music and horror concept.
